The NPS PTO is a non-profit organization and relies on volunteers and donations to support the NPS community.
“The mission of the NPS PTO is to enhance and support the educational experience at Narragansett Pier School (NPS), to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parental involvement and open communication with parents and faculty, and to improve the environment at NPS through volunteer and financial support through fundraising."
Background Check Information
In accordance with RIGL 16-2-18.4. Any persons intending to volunteer in the NSS shall undergo a state criminal background check to be initiated prior to such volunteer work. The applicant shall apply to the bureau of criminal identification (BCI), department of attorney general, state police or local police department where he or she resides, for a state criminal records check. Background checks are valid for one year from the date processed.
Option #1: Walk-in to the Narragansett Police Department and request a statewide background check. (there is $5 fee)

*Volunteer Background Check - ALL volunteers must complete a background check prior to volunteering in the school. The main office has an updated list of those volunteers who have been cleared to volunteer in the Narragansett School System. Please go to the school website for the forms and info required. Please note that a BCI is required yearly.
